The 750-kilovolt line project involves complex crossing and overpass scenarios, with tall and heavy iron towers. There are 18 iron towers with a total height exceeding 100 meters. To ensure the safe crossing of the 750kV Xingzhou I and II lines, the currently constructed No. 35 and No. 36 iron towers have a designed height of 140.35 meters and a single tower weight of 224.5 tons. These are the tallest iron towers of the same voltage level in the northwest region. During the construction process, all departments and units of State Grid Ningxia Electric Power Company worked as a cohesive unit, cooperated closely, and coordinated extensively. The No. 35 iron tower was erected in 15 days, and the No. 36 iron tower was erected in just 12 days with the accumulation of experience and improvement. To ensure the safety, reliability and efficiency of the erection of these two super tall iron towers, the ground assembly of tower components was completed first, followed by the segmented lifting and assembly using 85-ton, 300-ton and 600-ton cranes. Due to the different height and weight from previous ones, this project is also the first time in Ningxia to use a 600-ton large-tonnage crane for iron tower hoisting.
